My name is Angela and I am the Client Services Director here at Hope Pregnancy Center.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Counselling Psychology, and the purpose of my position is to listen, to encourage and to provide resources and advocacy to every person that comes to our center. I got connected to Hope when I was in Junior High because my mom started working here. I would visit her during the summer to “borrow” pop and hang out in the break room. When I was 16, I had the opportunity to volunteer my summer stuffing envelopes, answering phones and sitting at a booth at the Sonshine Festival! Does anyone else remember those good old Sonshine days? I absolutely LOVED what Hope stood for, and developed a passion for their mission. Fast forward 7 years and I completed my college degree by interning for a summer, and now I’ve been a full-time employee for a little over a year. I still LOVE what we do!
The best part of my job is the “getting to know your story” part. Everyone has a story, and every story matters to us at Hope. Understanding how someone gets to this point in their life is so important for me so that I can help them get to where they want to go next. My goal is to empower them through education and support to make healthy and informed choices that will help them reach their goals. I want the women and men I meet with to feel heard, respected and cared about regardless of their situation. In my own life, I have learned the importance of talking things out, and have experienced the blessing of having someone willing to listen. Everyone deserves to be heard. I love being able to give that experience to others!
